Her roommate had recently announced that she was moving out and Kazemi, a waitress at a Dave and Buster’s sports bar in Nashville, feared her rent would double.

Compounding her anxieties was an increasing suspicion that she was not McNair’s only mistress.

“She believed McNair was involved with another woman and that, too, participated in her state of mind, we think,” said Serpas.

Kazemi even tracked down the woman she assumed McNair was romantically involved with and followed her home Friday, but did not confront her, Serpas said.

“She had become very distraught and on two occasions she had told friends and associates that her life was all messed up and that she was going to end it all,” Serpas said.

He added that Kazemi told a friend on Friday, “My life is a ball of s— and I should end it.”

Relatives told reporters that Kazemi believed McNair, the father of four, was about to finalize a divorce from his wife of 12 years. In reality, no divorce papers were ever filed.

The same day she purchased her gun, Kazemi took out an ad on Craigslist selling all her furniture – including the sectional sofa she and McNair died on, the Tennessean newspaper reported. Kazemi’s relatives said she was selling her belongings because she thought she was moving in with McNair.

The bombshell news came on the eve of McNair’s funeral in Nashville, where he is revered for leading the Titans to the Super Bowl in 1999 and praised for his charitable work in the community.

McNair, a three-time Pro-Bowl pick who ended his illustrious career with the Baltimore Ravens, will be buried in his hometown, Mt. Olive, Miss.

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans opened their stadium Wednesday for fans who wanted to come and remember Steve McNair at the place where he gave them so many memories.

Nearly 4,000 fans filed into LP Field by late afternoon, to sit in the stands and watch a rolling video of McNair’s career.

“This is great,” said Nashville native Dan Haneline. “A lot of people are hurting because he’s gone, and it’s not fun to hurt alone.”

The Titans also made available several large albums for fans to write messages, to be passed on to McNair’s family.

“I wrote, ‘Steve, it was a great ride. Thank you,’.” said Mary Ellen Gandi of Franklin, a Titans season-ticket holder since 1999 who was wearing a No. 9 McNair jersey.

 “I followed him since he was at Alcorn State,” Deloatch said.

The video played on the two massive end zone screens and included classic footage of McNair making a pair of 360-degree spins to escape tacklers and throw a touchdown pass during his “Air McNair” run at Alcorn State.

 “It’s just closure for me,” said Chris Hurt of Nashville. “It’s been a long few days.”

 Velma McQuiddy came with five grandchildren, including two who had attended one of McNair’s football camps in Nashville.

 “I saw Steve two weeks ago, before he opened his restaurant,” McQuiddy said. “I think he remembered them, and he stopped to talk to the boys.”

The tribute will continue today at LP Field, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. CT. — Tom Weir

David Letterman is under fire for crude jokes about Palin’s teenage daughter.

Sarah Palin isn’t taking David Letterman’s ratings bait.

“The Palins have no intention of providing a rating’s boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show,” the Alaska governor’s rep said in a statement to FOXNews.com. “Plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman.”

The response came after the late-night talk-show host invited the governor to appear on “The Late Show” after stopping short of apologizing for “jokes” he had made about her and her family the night before, including one that referred to her daughter being “knocked up” by New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

“We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter, the 18-year-old girl, who is — her name is Bristol, that’s right, and so, then, now they’re upset with me,” Letterman said. “These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl. I mean, look at my record. It has never happened. I don’t think it’s funny. I would never think it was funny. I wouldn’t put it in a joke…”

“… Gov. Palin, if you’re watching, I would like you to consider coming to New York City — even Todd — as my guests, or leave Todd at home. I’d love to have you on the show. It’d be exciting. All right, so there, I hope I’ve cleared part of this up. Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was okay for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No.”

Letterman came under fire for his Tuesday night monologue in which he noted that the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate attended a Yankees game during a trip to New York City, where she was honored by a special needs group. Letterman referred to Palin as having the style of a “slutty flight attendant.”

He then took a shot at Palin’s daughter, saying, “during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”

The backlash was almost immediate, with Palin’s supporters denouncing the CBS host for making jokes that many said were sexist and for what they called an unfair attack on the governor and her family.

“I think that calling the former vice presidential candidate a slut or saying that her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez, I think everyone can agree that’s over the line,” Washington Examiner correspondent Byron York told FOX News’ Greta Von Susteren.

In a statement to FOXNews.com, Palin accused Letterman of making “sexually perverted” and “inappropriate” comments that she doubted he would “ever dare make” about anyone else’s daughter.

And if you’d asked me about this a year or so ago, I would have been jumping for joy, but now, I think it’s a terrible idea and I hope it doesn’t happen.

Why? Because Dustin Diamond is a jerk who doesn’t deserve any publicity whatsoever.

And I fear that even being anywhere near that guy could seriously tarnish the rest of the cast—especially Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Mario Lopez, who are flying pretty high these days…

Having talked to Gosselaar, I can tell you that he still has a lot of affection for the show, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he agreed to do it to please the fans of the show. But it honestly would pain me to see him anywhere near Diamond. And you know that Diamond would make the appearance all about him and it would be a total embarrassment for everyone involved.

Of course, maybe that’s why Fallon is pushing for it…

If you saw Diamond on “Celebrity Fit Club,” you know exactly what I’m talking about. And yes, I realize it was all just for show, but it was still terrible. Anyone who makes Kimberley Locke cry, is not someone I care to watch.

If you could just reunite the cast minus Diamond, that would be great. But that would honestly be a little unfair to the fans since it isn’t the whole cast. Now, if he decided not to show up, that would be different.

But we all know that won’t be the case…
